Position: Hostler / Yard Driver
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Approximately 10-Hour Morning Shifts
Experience: CDL Class A – 2 Years Required
About the Position
Rex Nova Transportation is looking for a reliable and safety-focused Hostler / Yard Driver to join our team. In this role, you will help keep our operations running smoothly by safely moving trailers between our Cross Dock and PDC.
What You'll Do
- Safely shuttle trailers between designated locations.
- Position trailers at docks and designated yard locations.
- Perform pre-trip and safety inspections on tractors and trailers.
- Use a walkie-talkie/radio to receive and communicate instructions.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, dock personnel, and other team members.
- Maintain an organized and efficient yard.
- Follow all company safety procedures and DOT requirements.
- Report equipment or trailer maintenance concerns.
- Help maintain an efficient flow of trailers throughout the yard.
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL Class A license
- Minimum 2 years of CDL driving experience
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Clean and acceptable driving record
- Previous hostler, yard, shuttle, or trailer-handling experience preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to safely maneuver trailers in a busy yard environment
- Ability to pass a required drug screen and background check
- Availability to work Monday–Friday morning shifts of approximately 10 hours
