Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead construction and commissioning activities for mission-critical facilities, including data centers and other powersensitive environments. The Senior Superintendent will be responsible for on-site leadership of multitrade crews, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, quality, and compliance with project specifications and applicable codes. This role requires strong technical knowledge of electrical distribution and MEP systems, proven experience managing complex installations, and the ability to coordinate contractors, owners, and design teams through construction, testing, and turnover.
Key Responsibilities

Provide daytoday onsite leadership and supervision of construction crews, subcontractors, vendors, and thirdparty commissioning teams for missioncritical facilities.

Manage installation, coordination, and QA/QC of electrical distribution systems including medium and low voltage equipment, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS and battery systems, automatic transfer switches (ATS), PDUs, bus duct, and cable tray.

Oversee installation and coordination of structured cabling, fiber optic splicing, raised access floors, hot/cold aisle containment, and associated data center infrastructure.

Supervise mechanical system installation and testing: chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, chilled water systems, cooling towers, pumps, HVAC controls, and building management systems (BMS).

Coordinate MEP trades and resolve interface issues with a focus on constructability, sequencing, and minimizing rework. Lead BIM/Revit coordination sessions and verify asbuilt conditions.

Plan and execute commissioning and testing activities (FAT/SAT/TAB), work with commissioning agents, and ensure systems meet design intent and Uptime Institute Tier/ASHRAE standards.

Maintain site safety and compliance: implement OSHA/HSE policies, perform daily safety briefings, enforce LOTO procedures, manage crane/rigging/hoisting operations, and maintain incident reporting.

Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, quality control punch lists, and closeout documentation. Ensure timely review and approval of shop drawings and equipment deliveries.

Develop and maintain project schedule and resource plans using MS Project and/or Primavera P6; coordinate manpower, equipment, and logistics to meet milestones.

Liaise with clients, engineers, and inspectors to ensure NEC/NFPA code compliance and successful inspections and signoffs.

Utilize project controls tools (Procore/PlanGrid/Bluebeam) to track progress, documentation, and communications. Provide regular progress reports and forecasts to project management.

Perform thermal imaging/IR thermography inspections and other diagnostic testing as required. Provide mentorship and training to superintendents and field staff.

Lead site security, access control, and CCTV coordination during construction to maintain mission continuity and client requirements.
Qualifications

Proven experience as a Senior Superintendent or equivalent field leadership role on large, complex construction projects; minimum 10 years construction experience with at least 5 years in missioncritical or data center environments preferred.

Demonstrated technical knowledge of electrical distribution and MEP systems, including medium voltage, low voltage, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS and battery systems, ATS, PDUs, bus duct, cable tray, structured cabling, and fiber optic splicing.

Experience with data center-specific infrastructure: raised access floors, hot/cold aisle containment, CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, chilled water systems, cooling towers, HVAC controls, BMS, and pumps.

Working knowledge of commissioning and testing protocols (FAT/SAT/TAB), ASHRAE standards, and Uptime Institute Tier requirements.

Familiarity with fire protection and life safety systems including preaction, FM200/Novec, dry pipe suppression, fire alarm & VESDA systems, access control, and CCTV.

Proficient in MS Project and/or Primavera P6, and experienced with Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, BIM/Revit for coordination and document control.

Strong understanding of NEC/NFPA code compliance, OSHA/HSE requirements, LOTO procedures, and site safety management.

Experience with PLCs, SCADA, VFDs, building automation, and controls integration is a plus.

Proven ability to manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, schedules, resource allocation, and quality control processes.

Handson experience with crane, rigging, and hoisting operations and managing vendor-installed equipment deliveries and installations.

Excellent communication and leadership skills with a track record of coordinating multidiscipline teams, mentoring field staff, and interfacing with owners and design teams.

Certifications preferred: OSHA 30, commissioning certifications, NICET or equivalent, and any relevant electrical/mechanical trade qualifications. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
