Year-round permanent position with benefits at the Village of Lake George Wastewater Treatment Plant. Day shift, 40+hours, rotating on-call on weekends.
This position is for a NY State grade 2A operator or trainee. Trainees will need to acquire a NYSDEC grade 2A WW license within 2 years of their employment date.
Job Description
Performs all associated work in the operation and maintenance of a 3A Activated Sludge SBR plant and associated collection system and pump stations. Works under Chief Operator and Assistant Operator.
Performs routine visual checks of plant for proper process functioning and operations of equipment.
Records readings from meters, SCADA and instruments.
Collects weekly SPDES samples and prepare for the lab.
Performs necessary laboratory tests on all processes.
Analyzes data and laboratory results to determine if process adjustments are needed.
Adjusts motors, pumps, valves, and chemical feed equipment and other apparatus to meet changing operating conditions.
Operate and maintain a belt filter press.
Monitors and adjusts the SCADA system; prepares a variety of reports and records such as daily operations reports, daily flow reports, routine plant check reports, chemical analysis records, bacteriological records and lab meter calibration records.
Conducts microbiology exams.
Calculate wasting rates.
Attends required training.
Assists in performing all preventive maintenance, lawn maintenance, snow removal and repairs to plant and collection system equipment as needed.
Strong mechanical skills
Performs work indoors and outdoors under all weather conditions.
Able to work unsupervised.
Able to perform physical tasks including lifting 75lbs.
Perform related tasks as required.
Required pre employment drug testing.
Required pre employment background check.
Minimum requirements: Clean driver's license, High school diploma or equivalency, and 3 yrs experience at a WWTP facility or 5 yrs in a construction-related field. Preferred NYSDEC 2A or higher WW License, CDL B a plus
Pay commensurate with experience and certifications.
