We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Breakfast Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong background in breakfast and brunch service. This role involves preparing and cooking breakfast dishes in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high-quality food presentation, and maintaining excellent food safety standards. The Breakfast Cook will contribute to creating a welcoming dining experience for our guests, utilizing their culinary skills and knowledge of food handling and safety protocols.
Duties
- Prepare and cook breakfast items according to standardized recipes and menu specifications
- Assist in menu planning for breakfast offerings, ensuring variety and quality
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Handle food with proper hygiene practices, including knife skills and food handling techniques
- Plate dishes attractively and efficiently for service
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and notify management of shortages or needed supplies
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Assist with catering or special event meal preparations as needed
- Follow all health department regulations and safety procedures
Qualifications
- You must know how to make eggs and omelets
- Experience in menu planning, food preparation, cooking, or fine dining environments advantageous
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Skilled in culinary techniques including knife skills and meal preparation
- Experience working in restaurants or the food industry is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work early mornings or flexible hours as required by breakfast service schedules
