Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Training and Experience: Two years’ experience in social or recreational programs preferred.
Job Knowledge: Understanding of the principles of group interaction and motivation techniques. Ability to effectively plan and implement therapeutic activities in a multidisciplinary setting. Excellent Computer and Communication skills required. Has ability to build rapport with patients. Must possess attitude and commitment to treat patients with dignity and respect.

DESCRIPTION:
The Activity Coordinator for the Adolescent Residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Program works under the direct supervision of the SUD Program Director. This position develops and implements various activities for the program and assists in the direct supervision of patient care.

Implement the various daily activities for the Program that follow the state mandates for SUD services.

Daily preparation and training of physical fitness, socialization, interpersonal/social skills, daily living skills and leisure time.

Assists with direct patient care and supervision of patients.

Maintains appropriate records, prepares reports as assigned.

Records daily progress on individual objectives. Maintains the progress notes, assessments, goals and objectives, and evaluations on individual progress.

Keeps participants informed of educational opportunities/support groups.

Acts as an advocate for active patients and participates in treatment team meetings as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Management.
9. Uses proper techniques in controlling disorderly conduct and combative patients or visitors.
10. Assist with supervision of hygiene care.
11.Inventory new patients belongings at intake, complete form & document items status.

Provide de-escalation interventions in conjunction with the staff to keep the patient & milieu safe.

Provide room safety checks as scheduled to assure no unauthorized items are on the unit.

Assist with monitoring patients that are in the therapeutic time out area, seclusion or in restraint & document according to the policy.
Physical Effort:
May frequently be required to stand, walk, and/or use hands to touch, handle, feel or reach objects. May occasionally be required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or craw. Must be able to speak and hear clearly, with or without accommodations. Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and have the mobility needed to engage the program participants.
Mental Effort:
Must understand and follow the requirements for group process and documentation of group activities. Must be capable of working in a high stress environment.
