This is a direct-hire opportunity for a technician with hands-on expertise in injection molding, including mold changes, set-ups, processing adjustments, and troubleshooting within an automated production setting.
Job Overview
The Injection Mold Set-Up Technician will handle mold installations, machine start-ups, processing checks, and in-process adjustments during the night shift. The role involves working with injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, automated take-out robots, and quality inspection tools to ensure consistent part quality and optimal machine performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute mold set-ups, mold changes, color changes, and machine start-ups efficiently.
- Operate and fine-tune injection molding machines within a precision-focused environment.
- Perform in-process and final quality inspections using precision instruments like calipers, micrometers, gauges, and vision systems.
- Diagnose and resolve molding defects such as shorts, flash, splay, color variation, or dimensional inaccuracies.
- Carry out basic preventive maintenance on molds and related auxiliary equipment.
- Help maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety, cleanroom, and quality procedures.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in injection molding is essential.
- Proven experience in performing mold changes, set-ups, and processing adjustments.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude coupled with effective problem-solving capabilities.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and remain standing for 12-hour shifts.
- Proficiency in reading and utilizing inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Basic math and computer skills are necessary.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in precision plastics manufacturing is required.
- Familiarity with automated take-out robots or in-mold sensors.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
