Join our dynamic team as a Behavior Technician - Floater/Sub in our clinic dedicated to supporting children with autism and developmental disabilities. **THIS IS A SUB/FLOATER POSITION - FILLING IN** If no one is absent then you will help other staff, cover bathroom breaks, help the BCBA's create materials, organize space, etc**
Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on principles of behavioral therapy and ABA techniques to promote skill development and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, dressing, feeding, and communication skills, fostering independence.
- Collect and record data meticulously during sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments, ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards.
- Support the implementation of care plans by collaborating with supervising clinicians, maintaining detailed medical records, and adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Engage children in teaching activities aligned with special education strategies, encouraging social interaction, communication, and functional skills.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing environment by managing behavior using positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques.
- Assist with medical terminology understanding and basic patient care tasks as needed within the clinic setting.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children, especially those with autism or developmental disabilities, is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral health principles, and behavior management strategies is essential.
- Experience in data collection, documentation of medical records, and familiarity with HIPAA compliance is advantageous.
- Background in special education or teaching roles that involve working with children with diverse needs will be valued.
- Strong communication skills and patience are critical for effectively supporting children and collaborating with team members.
- Certification or training in behavioral therapy or related fields is a plus but not required; on-the-job training will be provided for motivated candidates eager to learn.
