Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to ensure health stability
- Support clients with medication administration following prescribed schedules and safety protocols
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Practice safe patient lifting techniques and manual handling procedures to prevent injury for both clients and caregivers
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces
- Document care activities accurately in client records and communicate effectively with healthcare teams or family members about client status
- Implement behavior management strategies for clients with dementia or cognitive disabilities to ensure safety and comfort
- Support clients during outings or community activities using standard passenger car operation when required
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care, dementia care, and geriatrics is essential
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; ongoing training is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks confidently
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is advantageous
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
- Demonstrated understanding of safe patient lifting practices and medication administration procedures
- Reliable transportation skills for home & community visits if applicable
