Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC lathe machines to produce precision metal parts according to detailed blueprints and specifications
- Program CNC lathes using G-code, M-code, and CAM software to optimize machining processes
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine machining requirements
- Conduct quality inspections using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to ensure parts meet GD&T standards
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, grinders, and tooling to support machining operations and part finishing
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC lathes with Fanuc controls or similar systems
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, including G-code and M-code syntax
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), CNC milling machines, and plastics injection molding is a plus
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of measurement techniques using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs for quality control
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances
- Knowledge of tooling setup, grinding processes, welding basics, and assembly procedures
- Ability to operate forklifts and power tools safely when required
