Support students during the pivotal middle school years while helping them build both academic skills and confidence.
Do you enjoy helping students better understand their coursework, strengthen reading and writing skills, and feel more successful in school? We are seeking warm, reliable educators to provide personalized, in-home English Language Arts tutoring for students in Grades 6–9 throughout the Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Paradise Valley areas.
Our whole-child approach blends academic support with encouragement, relationship-building, and individualized strategies that help students feel more capable and confident. This role is ideal for educators who enjoy creating meaningful connections and tailoring instruction to meet each student’s unique needs.
Hours build gradually based on your availability and client needs and typically range from 5–10 hours per week during after-school and early evening hours.

What You’ll Do:
- Provide 1:1 in-home support related to middle and high school ELA coursework and assignments
- Support students in areas such as reading comprehension, writing development, literary analysis, grammar, vocabulary, and study strategies
- Help students stay organized and develop stronger work habits as appropriate
- Use engaging, individualized approaches that build understanding and confidence
- Reinforce executive functioning skills such as planning, organization, and task completion when helpful
- Communicate regularly with families regarding goals, progress, and scheduling
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education
- Experience teaching students in Grades 6–9
- Strong understanding of middle and high school reading and writing expectations
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt support to different learners
- Familiarity with executive functioning support is a plus
- Whole-child, student-centered mindset
- Strong communication skills and family partnership approach
- Reliable transportation for in-home sessions
- Valid fingerprint clearance card (or willingness to obtain)
