We are looking for a qualified Toddler Teacher to lead one of our our classrooms, caring for children ages 18-36 months.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have one of the following:
- --Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate
- --Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
- --Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Prefer at least one year of experience in a child care setting
- Must be eighteen years of age or older
- Must be mentally, physically, and emotionally able to provide adequate care and education for young children
- Must have a warm and friendly personality
- Must be able to relate well to children
- Must be willing to fulfill the responsibilities of the job in accordance with the program philosophy of Immanuel Christian Children’s Center
- Must pass Child Abuse & Neglect and Criminal History Background Checks
- Must be First Aid and CPR trained (ICCC will provide in-house training opportunities to meet this requirement)
- Job Duties
A Lead Teacher's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Be knowledgeable about the Creative Curriculum and use it to plan and implement lessons and activities that are developmentally appropriate
- Accommodate for children of varying ages and developmental levels, including those with special needs or limited use of English
- Design and maintain a classroom environment that is engaging and appropriate for the children, rotating materials as needed to maintain interest
- Implement a Christian education program, including daily devotion and prayers
- Observe and document each child’s development and progress in the Teaching Strategies GOLD online program
- Build and maintain a positive relationship with parents and families, ensuring open communication at all times
- Lead parent/teacher conferences twice per year
- Address behavioral concerns promptly and work cooperatively with parents and other teachers to find solutions
- Provide direction and support to caregivers in the classroom
- Be a positive role model for caregivers, maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times
