About the Position
Johnny's Backyard is looking for a dependable and hardworking Shop Runner / Warehouse Assistant to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the construction, logistics, or warehouse industry. No experience is required—we will train the right person who has a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Run company errands as assigned
- Pick up and deliver materials, supplies, and parts
- Maintain and update inventory lists
- Purchase parts and materials from local suppliers and stores
- Assist with loading and unloading materials
- Organize and maintain warehouse cleanliness
- Follow warehouse safety procedures and proper lifting techniques
- Assist with daily job assignments and shop operations
- Help prepare materials and equipment for upcoming jobs
- Communicate with office staff and field crews regarding material needs
- Support warehouse operations as needed
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Professional attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and follow directions
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to tow a trailer
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry materials
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
Preferred Qualifications
- Warehouse, logistics, moving, delivery, or similar experience
- Experience using hand tools
