Position Overview:
The Heritage Grill is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Cashier Dining Room staff. This vital role is at the forefront of our customer experience, ensuring every guest receives world-class service from the moment they arrive until they leave. Shift Availability:
We offer flexible scheduling options to accommodate various needs:
- Morning Shift: 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Afternoon/Evening Shift: 2:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Pay Range:
- Starting at $10 per hour: Starting pay is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience, demonstrated skills, and the value they bring to our team.
Key Responsibilities:
World-Class Customer Service and Craft:
- Greet every guest with a warm and genuine "Hello, welcome to the Heritage Grill! My name is [Your Name], may we offer you a signature Pioneer Burger, Specialty Sandwich or Salad?
- Actively listen to customers to understand their preferences and accurately take their orders.
- Proactively upsell a variety of delicious items, including our tempting desserts, specialty drinks and grab and go items.
- For guests who are indecisive or new to our menu, thoughtfully recommend signature sandwiches and sides to enhance their dining experience.
- Once an order is decided, suggest any grab and go and or desserts to add on.
- Confirm the order with the guest by repeating it back to them clearly and accurately.
- Process payments efficiently using the POS system, ensuring all transactions are correct.
- Assign a unique order number to each guest for seamless order tracking.
- Maintain a clean and organized counter and dining area throughout your shift.
- Constantly strive to create a world-class guest experience through attentive service and a positive attitude.
Order Fulfillment and Expediting:
- Fulfill customer orders with lightning-quick efficiency and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring every item is correct and perfectly prepared.
- Gather food items and other necessary items promptly to complete orders.
- Verify that all orders are complete with essential accompaniments such as spoons, napkins, and straws, as needed.
- Properly secure and wrap all items for take-away orders to ensure they are presented impeccably and maintain their quality during transport.
- Collaborate with food runners to help expedite orders, ensuring timely delivery to tables.
- In situations where no food runner is available, personally deliver guests' orders to their tables as soon as possible, thanking them and briefly assessing their table for any immediate needs before departing.
Operational Excellence:
- Continuously take orders from the next guest in line, maintaining a smooth and efficient flow at the counter.
- Actively assist in expediting orders when needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the front-of-house operations.
- Complete all assigned side work, including opening and closing checklists, to ensure the dining room is prepared for service and properly closed down.
- Accurately complete the closing of the cash drawer following established checklist procedures and verify it with the manager.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a customer service or cashier role is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and a positive demeanor.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences.
- Reliable and punctual.
