Join our dedicated team as a GED & ESOL Instructor, where you will empower adult learners to achieve their educational and career goals through engaging, effective instruction. In this role, you will deliver high-quality lessons in General Education Development (GED) preparation and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), fostering a supportive learning environment that promotes literacy, language acquisition, and lifelong learning. Responsibilities
- Design and implement dynamic curriculum tailored to adult learners’ needs in GED and ESOL subjects, incorporating instructional design best practices and learning technology tools such as Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Deliver engaging classroom instruction that promotes active participation, critical thinking, and practical language use across diverse student populations, including bilingual learners and those with visual or hearing impairments.
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, integrating literacy education, adult education principles, and accommodations for students with special education needs.
- Facilitate classroom management strategies that create a positive, inclusive environment conducive to learning for students of varying backgrounds and abilities.
- Provide individualized tutoring and coaching to support student progress, especially in areas like literacy education, classroom management skills, or language development.
- Utilize various teaching methods to support students with disabilities such as deaf or visually impaired education, ensuring accessibility and equal opportunity for all learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development initiatives, teacher coaching efforts, and integration of new learning technology tools to enhance instructional effectiveness.
Experience
- Proven classroom experience teaching adult learners in GED preparation or ESOL settings with a strong understanding of adult education methodologies.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design tailored for diverse student populations.
- Experience working with bilingual students or those requiring specialized accommodations such as deaf or visually impaired education.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms and other learning technology tools used to facilitate remote or hybrid instruction.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate students, collaborate with colleagues, and engage community partners when appropriate.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques that foster a respectful and productive learning environment.

Pay: $26.86 - $32.35 per hour
