Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) is seeking an experienced Airport Risk Manager to lead insurance compliance and contractual risk review across one of the nation’s largest airport systems.
This role is ideal for a candidate with experience in insurance compliance, contract risk management, vendor insurance review, aviation, infrastructure, government, transportation, or another highly regulated environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and supervise the Insurance Compliance Unit
- Review certificates of insurance, endorsements, and related coverage documents
- Verify vendor, tenant, and contractor compliance with contractual insurance requirements
- Develop insurance requirement templates, indemnification forms, and coverage guidelines
- Conduct contract-related risk assessments and determine appropriate insurance requirements
- Partner with legal stakeholders on insurance and indemnification language
- Oversee insurance compliance tracking, reporting, and expiring coverage notifications
- Maintain procedures, guidance materials, and staff training for the unit
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Aviation Management, or a related field
- Experience managing or administering an insurance compliance, vendor compliance, contract risk management, or related program
- Experience reviewing certificates of insurance, endorsements, coverage limits, and contractual insurance requirements
- Experience supervising staff or leading teams
- Experience using compliance databases, tracking systems, RMIS platforms, or similar tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in airport, aviation, transportation, government, infrastructure, or public-sector environments
- Experience developing insurance requirement templates and insurance limit matrices
- Experience with RMIS or insurance compliance systems
- ARM, CRM, CPCU, or related professional designation
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based, with regular access to terminal, landside, and operational airport areas
- May require occasional off-hours availability for audits, operational issues, or incident response
- Works in a fast-paced, highly regulated airport environment
- Occasional travel to conferences or benchmarking visits may be expected
