St. Augustine Group Homes is currently seeking caring individuals to work in a residential group home setting. We provide residential housing services for people who have developmental disabilities and behavioral difficulties. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will be working with a team to provide support services designed to promote self-determination and independence. This is accomplished through programs aimed at teaching new skills in the areas of self-care, behavior management, community integration, and other daily living activities.
We currently have evening shifts (3:00pm-11:00pm), awake overnight shifts (11:00pm-8:30am), and weekend day shifts (9:00am-11:00pm) available. The only Monday - Friday shift available is the split shift, which is 7:00am-9:00am & 3:00pm - 9:00pm. Come join our team and make a difference today!
What the job entails:
- Teach basic life skills and provide necessary supports
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all consumers through consistent supervision
- Fun group activities (games, movies, recreational activities, etc...)
- Implement and follow Behavior Plans
- Transport consumers to/from day center
- Supervise and coordinate community outings
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and the clinical department

Job Requirements:
- At least 1 year of experience in the areas of caring for children, elderly, or disabled people OR medical field experience OR 30+ college credits
- Minimum: high school diploma or GED
- The ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- A valid driver’s license
- The ability to pass Federal and Local background checks and drug screen
