We are a Reggio Emilia-inspired early childhood education center in Fullerton, CA, dedicated to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning in young children. We are seeking a passionate, reflective, and experienced Preschool Teacher who is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and committed to co-constructing knowledge with young children. The ideal candidate will bring a deep respect for children’s ideas, a collaborative spirit, and a strong foundation in early childhood development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate, Reggio Emilia-inspired learning experiences that are emergent, inquiry-based, and child-led.
- Observe, document, and reflect on children’s learning processes using various methods (e.g., photographs, learning stories, portfolios).
- Create and maintain an engaging and aesthetically pleasing classroom environment that encourages exploration and expression.
- Collaborate with co-teachers, families, and the wider school community to support each child’s growth and development.
- Participate in regular planning, reflection, and professional development meetings.
- Maintain open, respectful, and ongoing communication with families.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children.
- Create a sense of joyful learning with children.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 ECE core units (California requirement); Teacher Permit preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in an early childhood setting; Reggio Emilia or play-based experience strongly preferred.
- AA or BA in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred).
- Familiarity with California Licensing regulations for child care centers (Title 22).
- Excellent communication, observation, and documentation skills.
- Passion for emergent curriculum and inquiry-based learning. Strong understanding of childhood development principles.
Preferred Qualities
- Knowledge of the Reggio Emilia approach and its foundational principles.
- Experience using tools for documentation (e.g., digital portfolios, Reggio-style learning stories).
- Ability to collaborate in a team teaching environment with curiosity and professionalism.
