We are seeking a dedicated CDL Truck Driver to join our transportation team! In this vital role, you will operate a commercial truck including tractor-trailers to ensure the safe and timely delivery of freight across diverse routes. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers on over-the-road (OTR) routes.
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or equipment like forklifts when necessary.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to adhere to assigned routes and delivery schedules.
- Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following all hazardous materials regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, and hazardous materials regulations during all phases of transportation.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Load & unload cargo accurately, ensuring proper truck loading and unloading procedures are followed for freight security.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle inspections in accordance with federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated (e.g., hazmat, tanker).
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving on OTR routes.
- Knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures, freight handling, and logistics cargo handling.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently.
- Experience with refrigerated trailers or specialized equipment such as flatbeds or roll-off trucks is a plus.
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards.
- Physical ability to handle manual tasks involved in load & unload activities; forklift certification is advantageous.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance.
