Hernandez Family Law is hiring an experienced family law attorney for our Phoenix office. Arizona Bar license required, 2+ years of family law experience preferred, salary starting at $100,000 and negotiable based on experience, as well as hours billed.
We're one of Phoenix's most respected family law firms, and we built that reputation by resolving conflict without losing our edge in the courtroom. Our attorneys handle divorce, custody, support, and every other family law matter with legal skill and real care for what our clients are living through. If you want a place where you can run your own docket, get real support from senior attorneys instead of being left to figure it out alone, and still make it home most nights, keep reading.
What you'll do:
- Own your cases. Run a full docket of family law matters from intake through resolution. Counsel clients, build case strategy, and take cases through negotiation, settlement, or trial.
- Advocate for clients. Represent clients in mediations, settlement conferences, and the courtroom. You'll push for outcomes that protect kids and families instead of running up the conflict.
- Draft and analyze legal documents. Write pleadings, motions, and parenting plans that are clear, accurate, and built to hold up in court.
- Research and solve problems. Stay current on Arizona family law and find the real angles in a case, the kind that come from digging into the law instead of skimming it.
- Work as a team. Partner with our paralegals and support staff to keep cases moving. Help your colleagues when they need it, and expect the same in return.
- Communicate with clients. Return calls and emails promptly, give clients real updates instead of silence, and stay steady when they're not.
What you bring:
- Licensed to practice law in Arizona, in good standing (required)
- 2+ years of family law litigation experience, including hearings or trials
- Strong negotiation and courtroom skills. You know when to push and when a lighter touch gets a better result.
- Clear, persuasive legal writing and solid legal research skills
- Comfortable with case management software and remote collaboration tools
- Spanish fluency is a real plus. A large share of our clients speak Spanish, and that skill matters to them directly, not just to us.
Why work here:
- Starting pay of $100,000, negotiable based on experience, with additional bonus tied to billing performance
- Hybrid schedule after your first 60 days: two remote days, three in-office
- Direct access to senior attorneys for case guidance, not an open-door policy that exists on paper only
- Health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, and 401(k) eligibility
- Nine paid court holidays on top of standard PTO
