Medical Billing & Insurance Coordinator
Grow With The Flow Pediatric Therapy, PLLC is a small, therapist-owned pediatric practice serving children and families throughout the Chicago area. I started this practice with the goal of creating the kind of workplace where people genuinely enjoy working together, feel supported, and know that the work they do truly matters.
As our practice continues to grow, I'm looking for a Medical Billing & Insurance Coordinator who enjoys bringing order to the behind-the-scenes details that keep a practice running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in helping families navigate the often-confusing world of insurance.
While our therapists focus on providing exceptional care, you'll play an equally important role by helping ensure claims are processed accurately, payments are received promptly, and families have a positive administrative experience from start to finish.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll oversee much of the insurance and billing process while working closely with me to keep our revenue cycle organized and efficient.
Responsibilities include:
- Verifying insurance benefits for new patients and communicating coverage information clearly.
- Preparing, submitting, and tracking insurance claims through our electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Reviewing claim denials, identifying trends, and working with insurance companies to resolve outstanding claims.
- Posting insurance payments and reconciling patient responsibility balances.
- Managing patient billing questions with professionalism, kindness, and empathy.
- Following up on unpaid claims and outstanding balances.
- Monitoring authorizations, referrals, and insurance requirements as needed.
- Ensuring documentation supports clean claim submission and collaborating with therapists when clarification is needed.
- Maintaining accurate patient billing records while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Identifying opportunities to improve billing workflows and reduce administrative burden.
- Staying current on insurance policies, coding updates, and payer requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience with medical billing, insurance claims, or revenue cycle management.
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and medical terminology.
- Experience working within an EMR/EHR system.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Confidence communicating with insurance representatives and families.
- The ability to work independently while also collaborating as part of a small team.
- A proactive mindset, you enjoy identifying problems before they become bigger ones.
- Experience with pediatric therapy billing is a plus.
What It's Like to Work With Us
Because we're a small practice, every team member makes a meaningful impact. We value open communication, flexibility, kindness, and finding better ways to do things. There aren't layers of management or corporate bureaucracy, just a group of people who genuinely care about the families we serve and about supporting one another.
If you're someone who enjoys improving systems, solving billing puzzles, and being an important part of a growing pediatric practice, we'd love to hear from you.
