Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver/Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks and specialized equipment to transport freight, materials, and goods efficiently across designated routes. Your expertise in driving and handling different trailer types will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced logistics environment where your skills directly impact our operational success. Driver will be paid 30% of unit earnings.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tanker trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized vehicles.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring cargo integrity and safety.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Follow designated routes accurately, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies to ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, delivery receipts, and route records for compliance purposes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly.
- Assist with securing loads on trailers and verifying cargo weight distribution for safe transportation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driver roles or similar positions involving freight transport.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type (e.g., tanker, flatbed).
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently.
- Experience driving refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of load securing techniques and safety procedures for various freight types.
- Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently using forklifts or manual methods when necessary.
