Walnut Springs Family Health is seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated individual to join our team as a Medical Assistant / Receptionist. This dual-role position requires someone who can effectively balance both clinical and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced medical office environment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking skills, excellent customer service abilities, and the capability to multitask while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
Work Schedule
- Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Responsibilities
Front Desk Duties
- Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments
- Verify insurance information and update patient demographics
- Answer and route incoming phone calls
- Collect copays and patient balances
- Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record
- Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Assist with administrative tasks and office workflow
Medical Assistant Duties
- Room patients and obtain vital signs
- Document patient information accurately
- Assist providers during patient visits and procedures
- Administer injections and perform clinical tasks as directed
- Process prescription refill requests
- Coordinate laboratory and imaging orders
- Communicate with patients regarding provider instructions and test results
- Maintain exam room supplies and cleanliness
Qualifications
- Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) EMR
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multitask in a busy healthcare environment
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Dependable, reliable, and punctual
