Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Electrician to oversee and execute complex electrical projects across diverse settings. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of electricians, ensuring all electrical work complies with safety standards and local electrical codes. Your expertise will drive the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial and commercial electrical systems, including high-voltage wiring and low-voltage controls. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electrical teams on construction sites, renovation projects, and maintenance tasks to ensure timely completion of work.
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial and commercial electrical systems in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide installation and troubleshooting efforts.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and power tools to identify faults within complex systems.
- Ensure all electrical wiring—high voltage, low voltage, or control wiring—meets local electrical codes and safety procedures.
- Manage high-voltage electrical wiring projects safely while adhering to strict safety protocols for working with high-voltage systems.
- Collaborate with project managers to plan electrical layouts based on schematics and blueprints; coordinate activities with other trades like frame carpentry or general contractors.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, upgrades, and compliance checks for all electrical work performed.
Skills
- Extensive experience as an industrial electrician with a strong background in commercial electrical systems.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems efficiently using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and schematics reading techniques.
- Deep knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Code), local electrical codes, and safety procedures related to high-voltage wiring.
- Skilled in reading electrical blueprints, schematics, schematics diagrams, and blueprints for accurate installation and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation systems within industrial environments.
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage wiring projects; capable of managing power tools safely during installation or repair tasks.
- Strong understanding of low voltage systems including control wiring for industrial equipment.
- Ability to perform construction site work effectively while maintaining safety standards; experience in renovation projects is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on troubleshooting electrical issues swiftly to minimize downtime.
- Valid certifications in electrical work; familiarity with hand tools, testing equipment like ohmmeters, and adherence to all safety procedures is essential.
- Service Titan technician software experience is a plus.
- Ability to drive and lead a service vehicle.
- Ability to help guide and train apprentices while on job sites.
