Summary/Objective: The Harvest Supervisor assists in managing the citrus harvest. This position supports the Harvest Manager in overseeing multiple Farm Labor Contractors across various locations during the citrus harvest season, which runs from November through June.
Essential Functions:
- Field Assessment: Monitor fields to evaluate harvest quantity and quality.
- Scheduling: Schedule daily, weekly, and bi-weekly harvest activities.
- Equipment Oversight: Keep an eye on equipment for maintenance, repairs, and food safety compliance.
- Labor Management: Supervise Farm Labor Contractors (FLCs) and laborers performing various tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Daily Harvest Tasks: Ensure an adequate supply of trucks daily, enforce food safety guidelines, estimate daily and overall field loads to be harvested, maintain quality control, monitor safe tractor operation, and oversee the cleanliness of the field.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5 years of experience in agriculture-related roles.
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory position.
- Clear driving record and a valid CA Driver's License.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
