Position Title: Special Education ClerkPosition Summary
The Special Education Clerk provides leadership, organization, and coordination support within the special education program. This role helps support continuity, communication, problem-solving, and daily operations across paraprofessional and student support systems.
The Special Education Clerk works collaboratively with special education teachers and the special education coordinator to help ensure systems run smoothly and that responsibilities related to para support, communication, and coordination are shared rather than managed by one person alone.
Education and Licensure
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and support to paraprofessional staff.
- Work collaboratively with special education teachers and the special education coordinator to support student and program needs.
- Assist with communication and coordination between paraprofessionals and special education staff.
- Help problem-solve day-to-day student support and scheduling concerns with special education teachers.
- Assist with onboarding/training support for new paraprofessionals and staff as needed.
- Help monitor and organize para coverage and support needs under supervision of the special education coordinator and/or special education teachers.
- Support continuity and consistency within the learning environment.
- Assist case managers and special education staff with organization and follow-through of support systems.
- Help troubleshoot student engagement and support concerns alongside the special education coordinator and/or special education teachers.
- Serve as an additional point of contact/support for paraprofessional questions and needs.
- Assist the special education coordinator in managing para support systems so responsibilities are not carried by one person alone.
- Help maintain communication and follow-through regarding student support needs and staffing concerns.
- Support organization of schedules, documentation, and daily operational needs within the program.

Position Structure
- Hours: 25 hours/week
- Type: Salaried position
- Pay Range: $27,000 to $34,000
