NON-LICENSED CASE MANAGER / MENTAL HEALTH PEER SPECIALIST
Dallas, TX | Up to $24 per hour
We’re hiring a Non-Licensed Case Manager/Mental Health Peer Specialist to support individuals experiencing homelessness and behavioral health challenges.
This is a hands-on case management and peer-support position. You’ll complete client intakes, provide ongoing support, assist during crisis situations, connect clients with helpful services and maintain accurate case notes.
POSITION DETAILS
- Pay: Up to $24 per hour
- Schedule: 8:00 PM–6:00 AM
- Days: Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
- 40 hours per week
- No professional or clinical license required
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Receive new clients and complete shelter intakes
- Help clients access food, clothing, showers and available shelter accommodations
- Provide ongoing case management and peer support
- Build trust and engage clients with empathy and without judgment
- Monitor client stability and assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Recognize when a client may need emergency medical or mental health care
- Connect clients with behavioral health, housing and community resources
- Complete referrals and follow up on client needs
- Maintain timely and accurate case notes
- Assist with administrative and shelter-related responsibilities as needed
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in case management, behavioral health, crisis intervention, social services, advocacy or homeless services is strongly preferred
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Comfortable using email, Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping systems
- Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations
- Dependable and available to work the full schedule
- No professional or clinical license required
Candidates must be eligible for Texas Mental Health Peer Specialist certification. Eligibility includes having personal lived experience of recovery from a mental health condition. Current Mental Health Peer Support certification is preferred but not required.
