American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with Medical and Surgical ICU background for a night shift position requiring an active MA RN license and Epic experience.

Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and Surgical Intensive Care Unit of a hospital environment
-
Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
-
Every third weekend required (Friday-Saturday)
-
Patient ratio of 1:2
-
Float to the ED for boarders as needed
-
Uses Epic charting system
-
Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
-
Active MA RN license in hand required
-
Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
-
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, including both Medical ICU and Surgical ICU
-
Community hospital experience required
-
Required Epic charting experience
-
Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, and blood product administration
-
Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
-
Skilled in titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and paralytics/neuromuscular blockade

Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition

Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun preferred

Two references required for consideration, at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Provide critical care nursing to medically and surgically complex ICU patients

Complete pass/fail medication and telemetry competency exams during orientation, each allowing one attempt; failure results in immediate contract cancellation

Study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews to support exam preparation
-
Complete facility-assigned modules prior to start, during orientation, and annually
-
Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
-
Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 75-mile radius
-
Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system prior to reapplying
