The Facilities Director serves as the leader bringing oversight and performing the management and operations of all the physical facilities of the church to ensure a positive and welcoming experience for anyone on campus As part of the team at The Local Church, this position is not a staff role, as we don’t have a traditional staff structure. Rather, it is a role on our Team. By fulfilling this role, you will play a pivotal part in leading our collaborative efforts to accomplish all that God has set before us at The Local Church. Team members not only support the organization in achieving its mission but also make it their personal mission to connect people to Jesus and one another who connect people to Jesus. OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Administration
· Meet regularly with direct supervisor regarding policies, needed repairs, significant purchases and updates of projects and facility needs.
· Ensure proper completion all work related to the maintenance and repair of facilities (including but not limited to building inspections, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, custodial, landscape, waste management and security equipment).
· Implement, monitor, and follow policies and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and provide efficient use of labor and materials.
Facility Maintenance
· Direct others and/or personally perform maintenance/repairs for the church building, equipment (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical) and property, and/or oversee outside contractors and inspectors coming onto the property or into the building.
· Ensure that the buildings, grounds, parking lots, equipment, building systems, general security equipment, and housekeeping, are fully operational, safe, clean, neat, and prepared for scheduled services and ministry activities.
· Responsible for purchasing and maintaining supplies and equipment within the approved budget.
Logistics
· Ensure proper scheduling of set up and take down for meetings, special events, worship, weddings, memorial services, and otherwise as directed by the Operations Lead or their designee.
· Serve as primary contact for facility related emergencies, which may require evening and weekend response.
Staffing
· Support of an adequate number of employees as approved by the Lead Team.
· Develop and manage a volunteer-based facilities Serve Team. Schedule and coordinate Team’s efforts, as needed.
· Act as point of care for all facilities team members.
Emergency Prep
· Organize, label and store hurricane equipment and supplies.
· Help to secure the facilities and grounds of the church prior to all natural disasters.
· Ensure proper storing and retention of various chemicals, paints and fuels.
Performs other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
- Be a follower of Jesus Christ and live according to his teachings.
- An understanding of and commitment to The Local Church’s Vision, Mission, Values and DNA.
- Must be self-motivated, takes initiative, have both organizational and handiwork skills, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with others and be a team player.
- Good communication skills.
- The Local Church must be the home church while employed.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- General skills in Building and Property maintenance.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
