Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks with Possible Extension
Shift: Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts
Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Medical Surgical unit in Illinois. This travel opportunity is ideal for an RN who excels in a fast-paced acute care environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for Medical-Surgical patients.
- Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatments and medications.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and promptly report changes in condition.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and quality care standards.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and changing patient conditions.
- Float to other appropriate units within scope of practice as needed.
Requirements
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License in good standing – Required.
- BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) – Required.
- Strong Medical-Surgical nursing knowledge and clinical assessment skills.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous acute care Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Flexibility to float to other units as needed.
