American Traveler is hiring an LVN/LPN with dialysis experience for a 13-week travel assignment in a dialysis unit, with outpatient chronic and acute dialysis experience required.

Works in an outpatient dialysis unit

Outpatient chronic and acute dialysis patient population
-
Performs a wide range of dialysis procedures including chronic outpatient dialysis, administration of blood and blood products, AV graft and AV fistula cannulation, tunneled and non-tunneled catheter management, and dialysate conductivity testing

Operates Fresenius 2008T equipment and manages various alarms including arterial pressure, venous pressure, blood leak detector, conductivity, ultrafiltration, and temperature alarms

Shift hours run from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM in 8-hour, 10-hour, or a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts (e.g., 2 x 8s and 2 x 12s), based on department needs

Rotating Saturday coverage required, following the same shift structure as weekday schedules

Floating to other dialysis locations is required

Epic EMR experience is preferred

13-week assignment

Current LVN or LPN license required if applicable

Minimum 1 year of dialysis nursing experience

Outpatient chronic and acute dialysis experience required

Current BLS certification required

Proficiency with dialysis-specific clinical skills including blood glucose monitoring, infection control, and management of dialysis-related complications such as hypotension, hemolysis, hyperkalemia, disequilibrium syndrome, and cardiac arrest/CPR

Ability to cannulate AV grafts and AV fistulas

2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Local candidates are considered; candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility will be offered a reduced pay rate

All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application

Call-off policy allows up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment; on-call shifts used in lieu of call-offs count toward this limit
