Compass Community Services is a new Colorado HCBS-SLS waiver provider currently completing CDPHE PASA certification. We serve adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through Day Habilitation, Supported Community Connections, Supported Employment, and Life Skills Training in the Denver metro area.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Program Director who wants to be part of building something meaningful from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to shape the culture, operations, and future of a new IDD services organization — not just fill a role.
About the opportunity:
This is a ground floor position. You will have real influence over how this program is built, how clients are served, and how our team operates. As we grow your role and compensation grow with us. We are looking for someone who sees the potential in what we are building and wants to be part of it from day one.
Compensation note: This role begins as a deferred compensation arrangement during our pre-revenue startup phase. Upon receipt of our first Medicaid payment you will receive a $750 signing bonus in addition to your hourly rate going forward. We are transparent about this because we want the right person — someone who believes in the mission and the opportunity not just the paycheck.
What you will do:
- Serve as named Program Director on our CDPHE PASA application and certification process
- Be available for our CDPHE readiness call and on-site survey
- Build and maintain relationships with Community Centered Boards across the Denver metro area
- Coordinate prior authorizations and track client authorization limits per service plan year
- Recruit onboard and supervise Direct Support Professionals
- Ensure all client documentation and service delivery meets HCPF and CDPHE compliance standards
- Oversee EVV compliance and verify all visits are properly recorded
- Serve as the primary operational lead between our Colorado team and ownership in Minnesota
- Manage incident reporting in compliance with HCPF requirements
- Represent Compass Community Services professionally with CCBs CDPHE and HCPF
What we are looking for:
- Direct experience working at a Colorado HCBS provider agency or Community Centered Board — required
- Knowledge of the CDPHE PASA certification process — strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Colorado HCPF systems SLS waiver services and prior authorization processes — required
- Experience supervising Direct Support Professionals
- Knowledge of EVV requirements and Colorado Medicaid documentation standards
- Denver metro area based with ability to attend in person CCB meetings and CDPHE survey — required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services Social Work Psychology or Healthcare Administration preferred — experience considered in lieu of degree
- Self starter who thrives in a startup environment and can work independently
What we offer:
- $28–$35/hour depending on experience
- 1099 independent contractor — 10–15 hours per week to start with hours growing directly with program census
