About the Role
As a Glass Templator at Gatsby Glass, you will be the person responsible for capturing accurate, final field measurements on residential and commercial job sites. You do not price jobs or manage the sales process. Your job is to show up on site, take exact measurements of the glass application (showers, mirrors, storefront, railings, and similar), document everything clearly, and get that information back to the office so our team can finalize pricing and move the job into production.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in getting it right the first time. A measurement error at this stage causes rework, wasted material, and delays down the line, so accuracy, organization, and follow-through are critical to how you'll be evaluated.
Responsibilities
- Travel to job sites and take accurate, final field measurements for glass installations
- Document measurements clearly and completely using company templates, software, or devices
- Photograph job sites as needed to support fabrication and installation accuracy
- Communicate directly and promptly with the office team once measurements are complete
- Flag any site conditions, access issues, or scope questions that could affect fabrication or installation
- Maintain and calibrate measuring tools and devices as needed
- Keep a daily log of completed site visits and submit required documentation on time
- Coordinate scheduling with customers to confirm site access and timing
- Maintain a professional, courteous presence on customer job sites
- Complete other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Comfortable using a tape measure daily; experience with laser measuring devices is a plus
- Working knowledge of common software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and CRM tools
- Valid driver's license
- Highly detail oriented, organized, and able to keep clear, efficient notes and records
- Able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Strong work ethic
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with field measurement, templating, or a construction trade
- Willingness to be flexible and adapt to a changing daily schedule
- Ability to problem solve on site and make good judgment calls independently
