Winnisquam Regional School DistrictVarsity Softball Head Coach Spring SeasonWinnisquam Regional School District is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Varsity Softball Head Coach to lead and oversee the entire high school softball program. The Varsity Softball Head Coach is responsible for the development, organization, administration, and supervision of all aspects of the softball program, including coordination with sub-varsity coaches to ensure program continuity and athlete development.The Head Coach will provide leadership that promotes skill development, sportsmanship, academic achievement, character, and a positive student-athlete experience. The Head Coach is expected to serve as a positive role model and representative of Winnisquam Regional School District while maintaining compliance with all District, NHIAA, and NFHS rules and regulations.This position reports directly to the Athletic Director DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOrganize and conduct fair and equitable team tryouts and selection processes.Oversee and supervise all levels of the softball program, including coordination and communication with assistant and sub-varsity coaches.Develop and implement a comprehensive program philosophy that promotes athlete growth and prepares student-athletes for future success.Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices that emphasize fundamentals, advanced skill development, conditioning, strategy, and sportsmanship.Develop game plans and supervise all contests and team activities.Conduct a parent/player meeting prior to the season and maintain effective communication throughout the season.Foster a positive team culture that promotes respect, accountability, and good sportsmanship.Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices, contests, travel, and team activities.Collaborate with school administration, athletic staff, and community stakeholders to promote the softball program.Maintain accurate inventories of uniforms, equipment, and supplies and ensure proper care and maintenance of all equipment.Submit all required reports, rosters, eligibility documentation, and end-of-season evaluations in a timely manner.Attend coaches' meetings, professional development opportunities, NHIAA rules interpretation meetings, and other required training.Adhere to all District policies, NHIAA regulations, NFHS rules, and the principles of educational athletics.Promote and model professionalism, ethical conduct, and a positive image of Winnisquam Regional School District.QUALIFICATIONSPrevious coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, or equivalent competitive level is preferred.Demonstrated knowledge of softball fundamentals, player development, game strategy, and program management.Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Ability to positively motivate and mentor student-athletes.Must meet all NHIAA Coaching Eligibility Requirements, including: NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Certification.NFHS First Aid, Health and Safety for Coaches Certification (or approved equivalent).Current CPR/AED Certification.Completion of all NHIAA-required coaching courses and annual requirements.Compliance with all District hiring requirements, including background checks.CONTRACT/STIPENDCoaches are contracted for a term of one (1) year.
