About the Role
TastefulSnoods, a small, growing handmade dog-apparel brand, is looking for someone who loves to sew and wants real hands-on experience with a product business. You'll learn garment construction directly from the owner and earn for every quality-approved piece you make. The schedule is flexible and works well around classes.
What You'll Do
- Construct snoods and related garments to our quality standards
- Produce roughly 45 snoods per week during training, scaling up as your skills and setup grow
- Maintain consistent quality across construction, finishing, and materials
- Coordinate with the owner on scheduling and quality review
- Track and report your weekly unit count for payment
- Once transitioned: use company-provided equipment for home production and ship completed orders as directed
Compensation
- Training phase: $4.00 per snood during supervised sessions
- Standard phase: $8.00 per snood once training is complete and bulk ordering is set up
- Premium phase: $11.00 per snood after reaching the 170-snood milestone
- Optional self-sale bonus: 10% of the retail price (minimum $3.00/snood) for sales you source and close yourself
- Paid bi-weekly on all quality-approved units
Training
- Hands-on sessions with the owner covering construction, quality standards, and workflow
- Complete 45 snoods before working independently
- Weekday or weekend sessions by mutual availability; an optional weekend intensive (up to ~20 hours) is available to speed up learning
Schedule & Location
- You control your own schedule, location, and methods, as long as quality and timelines are met
- Communicate availability at least 5 days in advance
- Potential to work from home using company-provided equipment after training (at company discretion)
What We're Looking For
- Interest in sewing, garment-making, fashion, or craft/product work
- Detail-oriented and reliable
- No professional experience required — we train
Please Note
This is an independent contractor (1099-NEC) position, not employment. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes; no tax withholding or employee benefits are provided. Company-provided equipment remains company property. Either party may end the agreement with 7 days' notice.
