We are a large, established heavy civil and underground utility contractor specializing in site development, earthwork, underground utilities, concrete, and heavy civil construction. Our fleet of modern heavy equipment is essential to keeping our projects moving, and we’re looking for a knowledgeable Heavy Equipment Field Service Coordinator to help maximize equipment uptime and support our field operations.

Position Summary
The Heavy Equipment Field Service Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for field equipment repairs across multiple job sites. This position is responsible for scheduling field service technicians, coordinating repairs, ordering parts, providing technical troubleshooting assistance, and ensuring equipment is repaired safely and efficiently to minimize downtime.
This is an office-based operations role that works closely with field mechanics, project managers, superintendents, vendors, and equipment manufacturers.
Responsibilities
● Prioritize service requests based on operational needs.
● Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to field mechanics.
● Assist technicians in diagnosing hydraulic, electrical, engine, drivetrain, and electronic control system issues.
● Order parts, verify availability, and coordinate deliveries to job sites.
● Work with OEM dealers and outside vendors to expedite repairs and warranty work.
● Track repair progress and maintain communication with project management regarding equipment status.
● Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
● Maintain accurate repair records, work orders, and service history.
● Monitor equipment trends and identify recurring failures.
● Assist in developing repair strategies that improve fleet reliability while controlling maintenance costs.
● Promote safe work practices and ensure repairs comply with company safety standards.
Qualifications
● Minimum of 8-10 years of experience with diesel engines, DEF systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, undercarriages, and electronic diagnostics in heavy construction equipment.
● Strong understanding of Caterpillar, John Deere, Komatsu, Volvo, Link Belt, Case, Dynapac, or similar heavy equipment.
● Ability to troubleshoot equipment remotely and assist technicians over the phone.
● Experience scheduling field repairs or coordinating service operations preferred.
● Excellent organizational and communication skills.
● Ability to prioritize multiple repair requests in a fast-paced environment.
● Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management software such as IVO or similar.
● Valid driver’s license required.
