This position is compensated on a bi-weekly pay cycle.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The Colorado of Department of Corrections is looking for a dynamic leader with a professional medical background to provide senior management which includes planning, directing, and administering the operations of Clinical Services work units in all CDOC correctional facilities throughout the state through subordinate managers. Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:

Responsible for all Clinical Services programs that provide state-wide health services which include medical, behavioral health, dental, clinic operations, pharmacy, quality assurance, policy, and support services;

Define program objectives by strategically planning for mandates, future trends, and offender needs;
-
Formulate and/or adjust programs by analyzing the complexities inherent in a multi-faceted environment to determine resourceful, efficient processes and guidelines;
-
Provide oversight and direction for health care delivery, staffing patterns, pharmaceutical operations, assurance of quality care, records and services through subordinate management;
-
Allocate human and fiscal resources among and between constituent programs;
-
Accountable for attaining and presenting organizational and program objectives by collaboration with managers and administrators;

Accountable for self-organization goals and objectives, and establishing administrative processes, budgets, and programmatic guidelines in support of facilities and division;
-
Design, develop, and apply principles of strategic planning to ensure compliance with operational standards while achieving program goals relative to budget, human resources, and application of taxpayer's assets;

Identify, develop, approve, and provide oversight to policies and procedures that govern the clinical/correctional environment based on standards and the need for change, conforming to all state laws, national and local standards which include ACA and the Health Department;

Serves as appointing authority to all positions assigned to clinical services;

Position is responsible for all components of performance management;

Resolve employee complaints and respond to personnel matters, in collaboration with the Office of Human Resources;

Confer as a liaison with other state agencies; identify the need for teams or committees and advocate to resolve intra-agency or interagency issues;

Develop and lead teams, participate in or delegate leadership in the teams to resolve system's issues or processes;

Provides leadership in advisory, medical professional, interdisciplinary, planning, budget and other committees.
