Brighton Cornerstone is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing to lead our Nursing Services Department. Brighton Cornerstone offers a small, close-knit work environment focused on collaboration, relationships, and high-quality resident care.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Registered Nurse in good standing with the state licensure board
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in long-term care or nursing management preferred
- Self-motivated, self-directed leader with strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to direct, motivate, and support others
- Knowledge of record keeping and regulatory requirements related to nursing services
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Nursing Services Department and related programs
- Provide direction, oversight, evaluation, and discipline of nursing personnel to ensure compliance with facility policies, job descriptions, current standards of nursing practice, and state and federal regulations
- Develop, maintain, and update nursing policies and procedure manuals
- Make routine rounds and participate in tours with the Administrator, physicians, facility staff, government representatives, and visitors
- Identify changes in resident condition, accidents, incidents, grievances, and significant clinical trends and ensure appropriate assessment, documentation, reporting, notification, and care
- Coordinate nursing services with other resident care departments
- Recruit, retain, and ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet resident care needs; oversee and approve nursing schedules
- Assist with the development and delivery of staff training and education programs
- Ensure health service notes are accurate, informative, and descriptive of care provided and resident response
- Assess nursing needs prior to and upon admission and collaborate with the Attending Physician on care planning
- Complete pre-admission screenings and notify the Executive Director of any clinical barriers to admission
- Direct, oversee, and participate in the development and implementation of resident service plans
- Ensure nursing care is delivered in accordance with resident assessments, care plans, standards of nursing practice, and all applicable regulations
Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
