Junior Interior Designer
Dalton Interiors is looking to fill the role of Junior Interior Designer at our unique Scottsdale interior design firm. We are a small, collaborative studio that focuses on design across many different sectors including high-end residential, hospitality, multi-family, healthcare and sports.
This full-time role is ideal for someone who is passionate about design, eager to grow and comfortable supporting senior designers across all phases of design. The perfect candidate will have previous experience working in the interior design industry and encompass these key responsibilities. This is a customer-facing role that will be in constant contact with clients and vendors. A cheerful personality and the ability to successfully communicate ideas is essential to be successful in the position.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $57,000 per year
Job Responsibilities
Design and Creative Development:
- Assist in developing design concepts, mood boards and material palettes
- Support senior designers with space planning, FF&E selections and finish schemes
- Prepare design presentations, sample boards as needed and client‑ready documents
- Participate in design reviews and contribute creative ideas
- Be eager to research trends, products and materials
Drafting & Technical Work:
- Produce accurate drawings, elevations, and details using Revit
- Update plans and documentation based on senior designer or client feedback
- Assist with 3D modeling or rendering (CAD, Revit, SketchUp, Enscape, Photoshop)
- Maintain drawing standards and ensuring files are organized and current
Sourcing, Procurement & Vendor Coordination:
- Research and source furnishings, fixtures, finishes, and materials
- Request quotes, samples, and lead times from vendors and showrooms in coordination with procurement team
- Prepare specification sheets and assist with purchase orders in coordination with procurement team
- Track orders, deliveries, and installation details in collaboration with the procurement team
Project Support & Coordination:
- Attend site visits, take measurements and document existing conditions
- Assist with installation days, styling and punch‑ list walk throughs
- Communicate professionally with clients, contractors and vendors
- Help maintain project timelines, budgets and documentation
Studio Operations & Team Collaboration:
- Help maintain the materials library and keep samples organized and up to date
- Support general studio tasks as needed in a small‑ team environment
- Participate in team meetings, design charrettes and project check‑ins
Experience and Education
- 2+ years of recent experience in an interior design firm or related design environment (preferred but not required)
- Degree in an accredited Interior Design program
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
- Strong sense of design and basic elements of design
- Strong understanding of design fundamentals, materials and FF&E
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
