LVN will be responsible for completing pre-surgical patient health history, either by phone or in person. Providing safe, quality patient care through appropriate screening of patients scheduled for outpatient surgical procedures; adheres to all policies and procedures of the facility. Reports to PACU/Pre-Op Nurse Manager.
Will make sure all pertinent documentation is present, and health history is completed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Completes patient charting accurately and concisely.
2. Communicates appropriate information to Anesthesia Provider concerning the outpatient surgery candidate.
3. Safely carries out physician orders correctly and promptly, documenting all activities.
4. Communicates and interacts with patients and family in a positive and supportive manner
5. Communicates and interacts with physicians and physician office staff in a positive and supportive manner.
6. Attends and participates in Inservice programs, communication groups, and staff meetings.
7. Adheres to facility policies and procedures
8. Along with the RN, LVN participates in patient and family education
9. Complies with cost containment practices
10. Makes pre-op phone calls for verbal health history of the patient
11. Participates in quality assurance monitoring
12. Observes all safety precautions and complies with all health and safety rules and procedures of the facility
13. Maintains required professional license and/or certificates
14. Works Sitting 80% of work time.
This position may encompass other duties than the specified duties listed above. If necessary, alternative duties can be assigned at the discretion of the direct supervisor.
Graduate from a school of Licensed Vocational Nursing .
Qualified Licensed Vocational Nurse with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
