The Mission & The Why
Traditional education systems are fundamentally fragmented. A child can experience a volatile morning, navigate a chaotic bus ride, and walk into a classroom completely dysregulated, while the educator has zero context. The experience of learning doesn't start at the classroom door; it starts the exact second a student steps onto the school bus.
We are building a comprehensive, mobile-integrated system architecture that bridges custom transit infrastructure with advanced, real-time software logic. By linking transit hardware (cameras, check-in scanners) to a continuous student support database, we are eliminating the blind spots in youth advocacy.
We are done asking traditional bureaucracies for permission to change. We are building the alternative framework ourselves. We need an executive fundraising architect to help us fund the build.
The Role: Who We Are Hunting For
As the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and Executive Co-Founder, you are not a standard corporate salesperson or a passive collector of checks. You are a strategic schemer, a relationship builder, and a mission-driven disruptor.
You will own the entire funding architecture of the organization. Working side-by-side with the Founder (Systems & Software Architect), you will translate technical blueprints, database frameworks, and human-experience designs into a powerful capital campaign. You are the bridge between our "mad scientist" operational vision and the philanthropists, foundations, and corporate partners who have the capital to scale it.
Core Executive Responsibilities. Capital & Funding Architecture
- The Groundwork: Identify, research, and map out a pipeline of high-alignment regional and national family foundations, corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds, and federal/state grant opportunities.
- The Strategy: Design a multi-tiered capital campaign targeting seed funding to get our first physical vehicle modified, our software prototype fully deployed, and our founding executive salaries permanently secured.
High-Value Relationship Stewardship
- The Pitch: Serve as the eloquent, passionate voice of the organization to external stakeholders. You will pitch to high-net-worth individuals and foundation directors, confidently articulating why funding systemic infrastructure saves children's lives.
- The Partner Network: Move local business leaders and community coalitions from passive allies into active, funding stakeholders.
Grant & Proposal Construction
- The Synthesis: Partner closely with the Founder to digest technical systems (like database ERDs, UX prototypes, and physical CAD vehicle layouts) and weave them into compelling, high-yield grant narratives.
- The Tracking: Oversee a student volunteer/intern team tasked with managing donor databases, grant tracking spreadsheets, and compliance reporting.
Who You Are
- The Mindset: You possess a profound, unshakeable empathy for children and a burning impatience with slow-moving, bureaucratic systems. You take "no" as data, not rejection, and instinctively pivot to find the workaround.
- The Experience: You have a background or deep literacy in nonprofit management, public relations, business development, or community organizing. You understand how the wheels of capital turn in mission-driven spaces.
- The Language: You can look at a tech stack, a software lockout feature, or a vehicle schematic and instantly translate its human impact to a room full of traditional donors.
The Compensation Structure (The Founding Agreement)
This is a bootstrap-to-scale founding partnership.
- Phase 1 (Months 1–6): $0 cash salary--sweat equity. You are investing your talent and leadership alongside the Founder to establish the entity, finalize student-led CAD/UX prototypes, and submit the initial round of major seed grants.
- Phase 2 (The Milestone): The Board of Directors establishes a binding founding agreement: The first $X$ amount of unrestricted organizational capital or foundational operational funding secured will be permanently allocated to activate your full-time executive salary (Target: $60,000$ base).
- The Perks: Uncapped creative freedom, an equal seat at the executive table, and the undeniable legacy of building a system that changes the paradigm of child advocacy from the ground up.
To Apply:
We do not want a generic, automated corporate resume. Send us a note telling us about a systemic flaw you observed that infuriated you, what you did about it, and why you are ready to build a new table instead of begging for a seat at the old one.
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
