Personal Support Staff

Are you calm, patient, and looking to make a meaningful difference in someone's life? We're looking for dedicated personal support staff members to support a young adult with autism, in his daily life and community activities. This is a great opportunity for college students!
About the Role:
This is not a clinical position — it’s about being present, supportive, and helping him engage in the world around him. You’ll be part of a small, supportive team of employees, friends and family that values respect, independence, and dignity.
Your day may include:
- Supporting as he shops and makes independent choices using his debit
- card
- Accompanying him to horse therapy (must be comfortable around animals)
- Being alert to health cues (signs of a migraine)
- Spending time in the community — zoo, recreation & parks activities
- Supporting him at home, including time spent by the swimming pool
- Encouraging use of assistive technology to communicate (Text-to-Speech)
- Being a steady, calm presence during both active and quieter moments
Who We're Looking For:
- No prior experience with autism or disabilities required — background is a bonus, but we are looking for someone who is patient and kind above all else.
- Calm, kind, observant, dependable, patient
- College students, introverts, and folks with a good sense of humor are welcome
- Must be comfortable around friendly dogs and animals in general
- A good fit for people who are grounded, flexible, and open-minded
Benefits & Compensation:
- $25–$30/hour starting rate (starting salary will be based on experience, skill, and education)
- $250/month health insurance premium reimbursement stipend

Requirements:
- CPR/First Aid
- Pass a background check
- Good references
