Upper Darby Township is actively seeking a Permit Technician to support the Township?s Licenses & Inspections Department through permit processing, customer assistance, inspection coordination, and administrative support. This highly visible, public-facing position plays an important role in helping residents, landlords, contractors, business owners, and property representatives navigate licensing, permitting, and inspection requirements while ensuring compliance with Township codes and procedures.
Key responsibilities include processing permit and license applications, coordinating inspections and re-inspections, maintaining accurate records, and providing day-to-day support for the Township?s Rental Licensing and Use & Occupancy Inspection Programs. The Permit Technician will communicate with landlords, property owners, contractors, realtors, and residents regarding application requirements, inspection scheduling, compliance issues, and licensing deadlines. The position also supports code enforcement operations by tracking violations, preparing notices and correspondence, collecting payments, maintaining departmental records, and assisting inspectors and department leadership with administrative functions.
