Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Hollow Metal Door Shop Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and finishing hollow metal doors that meet precise specifications and quality standards. Duties
- Fabricate hollow metal doors by cutting, welding, and assembling steel components using hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment
- Modify hollow metal doors and frames for hinge and hardware locations per shop orders.
- Measure and mark materials accurately to ensure precise cuts and assembly according to specifications
- Use mechanical knowledge and carpentry skills to perform fabrication tasks, including drilling, grinding, and finishing surfaces
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency throughout the manufacturing process
- Inspect finished doors for quality control, ensuring they meet all dimensional and aesthetic standards before shipment
- Assist with inventory management by tracking materials used and replenishing supplies as needed
Requirements
- Prior experience in manufacturing, millwork, or fabrication environments is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hand tools, power tools, machining processes, and carpentry techniques
- Warehouse experience including materials handling and forklift operation is a plus
- Ability to read technical drawings or blueprints accurately for proper assembly
- Familiarity with construction or metalworking processes enhances performance in this role
- Comfortable working with various materials such as steel and aluminum in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to safety protocols
