We are seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join our group where collaboration, accountability and mutual support matter.
The role is an important part of keeping our physicians, clinic staff and patients moving forward smoothly. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, works independently, and values being a part of a dependable orthopedic team.
What you'll be doing:
- Assume the responsibility of receiving and sorting incoming payments with attention to credibility
- Manage the status of accounts and balances and identify inconsistencies
- Issue and post bills, receipts and invoices
- Check the validity of debit accounts
- Update accounts receivable database with new accounts or missed payments
- Ensure all clients remain informed on their outstanding debts and deadlines
- Provide solutions to any relative problems of clients
- Write thorough reports on billing activity with clear and reliable data
- Charge entry, claims submission and payment posting
- Insurance and patient follow up with attention to detail
- Prior authorization, insurance benefits for patints
- Medical records
- Durable medical equipment prior authorization
- Managing denials and the appeals process
- Navigating insurance rules to reduce A/R days
- Using reports and data to identify opportunities for improvement
- A/R Follow up
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 3 years of medical billing experience preferably ortho
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines independently
- Comfortable working in a busy environment
- Dependable, organized and team orientated
- Familiar with EClinical works
- Proven experience as billing specialist
- Adherence to laws and best practices in regards to dealing with customers and data
- Comfortable dealing with numbers and the processing of financial information
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel) and Trizetto clearinghouse, avality
- Proficiency in English
- Results-driven and patient
- High degree of attention to detail and trustworthiness
- BSc degree in Finance, Accounting or BA
