Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Music Teacher to inspire students through the transformative power of music and the arts. Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive music curricula tailored to various age groups and skill levels, incorporating both visual and performing arts elements.
- Lead engaging classroom sessions that cover musical theory, instrumental performance, singing, choreography, dance instruction, and theater arts.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment that encourages participation and artistic exploration.
- Plan and execute performances, recitals, and student showcases to celebrate artistic achievements.
- Provide individualized tutoring and support for students working on musical instruments, dance techniques such as ballet or jazz, or theater projects.
- Develop creative lesson plans that integrate arts education with childhood development principles and early childhood education standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects involving photography, sewing, culinary arts, or other creative disciplines.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, attendance, and performance assessments.
Skills
- Strong experience in curriculum development for arts education across multiple disciplines including music, dance (ballet and other styles), theater, and visual arts.
- Proven classroom management skills that foster respectful, disciplined learning environments.
- Experience working with children and youth programs teaching creative arts or performing arts.
- Expertise in teaching instrumental performance, choreography, dance instruction, or theater arts.
- Knowledge of musical instruments and ability to teach their proper use and maintenance.
- Background in early childhood education or preschool experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to plan lessons effectively while incorporating behavior management strategies suited for diverse learners.
- Familiarity with special education needs related to childhood development or behavioral challenges is a plus.
- Skills in photography or sewing can enhance interdisciplinary projects within the program.
- Passion for nurturing creativity through arts instruction such as cooking classes or adult education programs is welcomed.
