Duties
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs, ensuring compliance with special education laws and regulations.
- Deliver evidence-based instructional strategies, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), speech therapy techniques, and curriculum modifications to support learning across literacy, math, social skills, and functional life skills.
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, parents, and other stakeholders to design and adapt lesson plans that incorporate educational technology integration and instructional design principles.
- Provide direct support during classroom activities, managing behavior through positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies for students with disabilities.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings effectively with families and team members.
- Facilitate early intervention programs for toddlers and preschool-aged children to promote developmental milestones in language, motor skills, and social-emotional growth.
- Support students’ emotional well-being through recreational therapy, music therapy, or behavioral health interventions as needed.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of special education practices including IEP development, instructional modifications, and understanding of special education law.
- Proficiency in speech therapy techniques, behavioral therapy (including applied behavior analysis), and behavioral health strategies.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), deaf education, visually impaired education, or early childhood development.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with effective behavior management for students with diverse needs.
- Ability to integrate educational technology tools to enhance learning experiences across various subjects such as literacy education, math, physical education, and recreational therapy.
- Excellent communication skills for parent collaboration, team coordination, and documentation purposes like proofreading reports or standardized testing results.
- Background in curriculum development tailored for special populations including Montessori or preschool settings; experience working in private schools or early intervention programs is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor colleagues and provide instructional coaching within a collaborative teaching environment.

Pay: $21.88 - $23.82 per hour
