Science Teacher Elementary, Middle School & High School (Part-Time)
The Science Teacher is responsible for creating a supportive, engaging, and academically rigorous learning environment for students in Elementary, Middle School and High School. The teacher will plan and deliver effective science instruction, assess student learning, maintain a positive classroom culture, and foster meaningful relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. The teacher will inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for scientific discovery while ensuring that instruction aligns with Islamic values and principles.
Responsibilities:
Classroom Management
- Create a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Establish and implement classroom rules and procedures to maintain discipline and student accountability.
- Manage student behavior in a fair, consistent, and effective manner.
- Foster a classroom culture that encourages inquiry, collaboration, and mutual respect.
Curriculum Planning and Instruction
- Develop and deliver engaging science lessons that meet curriculum standards and learning objectives.
- Teach Elementary, Middle School and/or High School science subjects, including but not limited to General Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Integrate technology, laboratory experiments, demonstrations, and hands-on activities into instruction.
- Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, scientific reasoning, and inquiry-based learning.
- Ensure lessons and classroom discussions align with Islamic values and principles.
Assessment and Evaluation
- Assess student learning through tests, quizzes, laboratory reports, projects, presentations, and classroom observations.
- Provide timely, constructive, and meaningful feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, grades, and attendance.
- Use assessment data to inform instruction and support student achievement.
Communication
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, achievements, and concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices and curriculum development.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences, school meetings, and school-sponsored events.
- Maintain professional and positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Professional Development
- Stay current with educational research, science content knowledge, and instructional best practices.
- Attend professional development workshops, training sessions, and faculty meetings.
- Continuously pursue opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Laboratory and Classroom Environment
- Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom and laboratory environment.
- Ensure all laboratory safety procedures are followed and enforced.
- Organize and maintain science equipment, materials, and resources.
- Promote responsible use of laboratory tools, technology, and classroom resources.
Student Support
- Provide individual and small-group instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Identify and address students’ academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Encourage student participation, engagement, and scientific exploration.
- Support students in developing confidence, curiosity, and independent learning skills.
School Community
- Contribute positively to the overall school community through participation in school-wide activities and events.
- Support and uphold school policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and Islamic values.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching certification preferred.
- Previous teaching experience in Elementary, Middle School and/or High School science preferred.
- Strong knowledge of science content and effective instructional practices.
- Experience conducting laboratory activities and implementing safety procedures.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in educational technology and learning management systems.
- Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting Islamic values.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry classroom, laboratory, and instructional materials.
- Ability to safely supervise students in classroom and laboratory settings.
- Ability to navigate the classroom and school environment effectively.
