Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as a Resident Assistant, where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, personalized care to residents in a long-term care or assisted living setting. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents’ health stability
- Provide specialized care for residents with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other cognitive disabilities by implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques
- Support residents during meals by meal preparation, feeding assistance, and ensuring proper nutrition intake
- Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being while fostering a lively community atmosphere
- Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas through routine cleaning and sanitation practices to uphold health standards
- Operate standard passenger cars for transportation needs such as outings or medical appointments while adhering to safe driving practices
- Respond promptly to emergencies with first aid or CPR when required, ensuring resident safety at all times
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members to develop personalized care plans that meet each resident’s unique needs
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or residential care environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia care, memory care techniques, and behavior management strategies
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and understanding basic health indicators
- Certified in first aid and CPR; additional certifications related to caregiving or geriatrics are a plus
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with manual handling tasks such as Hoyer lift operation
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork
- Valid driver’s license for driving duties; clean driving record required
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents’ quality of life

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
