Reports directly to the Store Director
Supervise grocery clerks including dairy and frozen
Position summary: The White’s grocery department manager is responsible for ensuring an organized and smoothly running grocery department. Primary categories included in the department are grocery, frozen, dairy /refrigerated. The grocery manager will be the primary person making sure that all grocery related tasks get done. This person works closely with the store director to ensure proper conditions and efficiency.
Customer service
- Model excellent customer service for staff and provide excellent service to staff and peers.
- Answer customer questions and comments in a timely manner.
- Know the store layout and knowledge about product.
Financial
- Meet labor, sales, and margin goals.
- Maintain working knowledge sales reports, margin reports.
- Verify invoices daily to ensure proper purchase and credits from all vendors and suppliers.
Personal Practices
- Supervise department staff and assign daily task.
- Actively coach , teach, and train staff.
- Works closely with the GM to assess staffing needs and concerns.
Merchandising
- Ensure all orders are written and processed in a timely fashion.
- Plan and execute merchandising flow on a daily basis such as displays, seasonal, and all other product flow.
- Have a working knowledge of inventory management and product flow in all areas of the store including salesfloor, backroom, warehouse, coolers and freezers.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods , bend , twist repeatedly, lift product overhead, and / or to climb ladders with product.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
