Key Responsibilities:
Facility Operations & Maintenance
- Assist in the day-to-day operation and upkeep of all campus buildings and grounds.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and repair opportunities (lighting, doors, ceilings, furniture, etc.).
- Perform and/or assist with minor repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance tasks.
- Monitor and maintain HVAC systems, including routine filter changes and reporting issues support.
- Ensure all facilities operate efficiently and report larger issues requiring outside contractors.
Daily Opening & Closing Procedures
- Open and prepare all campus buildings, including classrooms, offices, and synagogue spaces, ensuring lighting, air conditioning, and general readiness for daily use.
- Secure buildings at the end of the day as needed, ensuring safety and proper shutdown of systems.
- Perform regular walkthroughs of the campus to ensure cleanliness, order, and safety.
Grounds & Cleanliness
- Maintain cleanliness of outdoor and common areas, including trash removal and ensuring grounds are free of debris.
- Manage dumpster areas, including opening, closing, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of enclosures.
- Ensure all trash receptacles across campus are emptied and maintained regularly.
- Monitor restrooms for cleanliness, supply levels, and maintenance needs.
Event & Program Support
- Set up and break down rooms for meetings, programs, religious services, and special events.
- Assist with logistics for events, ensuring spaces are properly prepared and restored.
- Work collaboratively with staff to ensure event needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
Campus Support Functions
- Update and maintain the outdoor marquee/signage as directed by administrative staff.
- Provide general support to various departments to ensure smooth campus operations.
- Respond promptly to facility-related requests from staff and leadership.
Compliance & Safety
- Support efforts to maintain a safe and compliant campus environment.
- Identify and report safety hazards and assist in implementing corrective measures.
- Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Additional Duties
- Perform other facility-related responsibilities as assigned to support the overall operation of the campus.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of building systems, maintenance, and repair (plumbing, electrical, HVAC preferred).
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and working both indoors and outdoors.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to support evening or weekend events as needed.
